Opening Scene:
INT. TANNER FAMILY LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
The TANNER FAMILY sits around the living room, engaged in various activities. The TV drones in the background. ALF, the furry alien with an insatiable appetite, skulks around, eyeing the family members with an ominous glint in his eyes.
ALF
(to himself)
No more cat-chasing for me, no sir. Gotta think bigger. Literally.
The family pays no heed to Alf, who sneaks up behind them with exaggerated tiptoes.
CUT TO:
INT. TANNER FAMILY LIVING ROOM – LATER
The room is eerily quiet. The Tanners are no longer there. Crumbs and a bit of chaos indicate a scuffle might have taken place. ALF pats his round belly, looking self-satisfied.
ALF
(burps)
Well, that was filling. Now, what’s on TV?
Alf flicks through channels, dissatisfied with the offerings. He eyes the cat, WHISKERS, who watches him warily.
ALF
(contemplating)
You know, Whiskers… What if you could appreciate these shows with me? What if you could trash talk ‘Survivor’ with the best of ’em?
Whiskers meows, confused but intrigued.
CUT TO:
INT. SPACESHIP LAB – NIGHT
A high-tech spaceship laboratory. ALF is wearing a lab coat, ridiculously oversized goggles, and holding a bubbling beaker. Whiskers is strapped into a sci-fi contraption.
ALF
(evil genius)
And now, to make you the Einstein of the feline world!
A FLASH OF LIGHT and a puff of smoke.
CUT TO:
INT. TANNER FAMILY LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
Whiskers, now standing upright, sporting a pair of glasses and holding a remote.
WHISKERS
(sarcastic)
Reality TV, Alf? Really? I expected more from a superior life form.
ALF
(defensive)
Hey, watching Earthlings make fools of themselves is quality entertainment!
They both shake their heads, chuckling at the absurdity on the screen.
ALF
(cackling)
Oh, man, did you see that guy’s face?
WHISKERS
With these glasses, I wish I hadn’t.
They continue to banter back and forth, throwing popcorn at the screen, completely at ease in each other’s company.
FADE OUT.
